Life in Piriapolis, Uruguay

March  25, 2013

“It is hard to believe we have been in Piriapolis for 2 months already…time has gone fast. We head to Minnesota tomorrow for a few weeks. Time to see family, pay taxes and visit my Oncologist.”

Two months went by incredibly fast. We had loved our beach home. We tried to spend a part of each day on the beach. If we were feeling lazy the dogs would whine by the door until we gave in.

When we arrived in January the beach was just starting to get busier. The weather got warmer. The winds always blew…often very strong winds.

Pictures can show our time in Pirapolis better than words.

Leaving our house to head across the dune to the beach. Now to get past the German Shepard.

Our biggest concern was a HUGE German Shepard that roamed free from a house two doors down. He liked to bark and growl at us. We hated walking by that place.

We were not the only ones that used our road!

We were not the only ones that used our road! They really drove the German Shepard crazy!

If you look over the dune you will see our house.
If you look behind Chris and over the dune you will see the deck of our house, right in the middle of the picture.

How could we not love our time in Piriapolis. We made some life long friends and fulfilled a dream of “living” on a beach. You could tell the dogs were happy. Hard to believe they started out afraid of the water. Sedona spent weeks barking at a rock because she thought it was moving due to the wave action.

We never got tired of watching the sun set over the water.
